Our mission at the Ginger Bistro is to bring fresh, fine dining to the people of Preston. To compliment the surrounding businesses by providing delicious food, fine wines and cocktails.

Sourcing as many of our ingredients and produce as we can from local suppliers. Employing local staff. We want to be in the heart of the local community.

The Ginger Bisto is a family run business. With large ‘chain’ experience, we are passionate about food, flavour and fun.

Christmas Day Menu Mains

Filled Courgette, with an Artichoke, Apricot, Chestnut, Barley, Carrot Stuffing, served with melted cheese in an Orange Mustard sauce (V)

Fillet of Halibut wrapped in Parma Ham with Roasted and Spiced King Prawn, served on a bed of Thai Spiced Stir Fried Vegetables and a lemon,  ginger, garlic and dill butter sauce

Beef Wellington, fillet of beef wrapped in mushroom pate and pastry, served with roast potatoes,  seasonal vegetables and a rich port wine jus

Traditional Roast Turkey, served with Pigs in Blankets, Mashed and Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding and Seasonal Vegetables with Gravy

Boxing Day
We will be open all day on 26th December from 10am for breakfast. Our evening menu is a special celebration menu click here to view.  Our normal A la Carte menu will not be available.

 

New Years Eve
We will be open from 5pm until 10pm (last sitting 9pm) with a special celebration menu. The normal A la Carte menu will not be available. By advance booking only £50 per head, children under 12 £20. Click here to see the full menu and booking form.

Set Menu

Our set menu is available 12 noon until 3pm Monday to Saturday and in an evening 5pm until 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

Starters:

  • Soup of the Day served with sour dough bread and butter
  • Sautéed Mushrooms, Garlic, White Wine and Cream, with Sour Dough Bread
  • Chicken Seekh Kebab, served with Sweet Chili Dip

Main Courses:

  • Vegetable Dahl, sweet potato, spinach and lentil dahl, served with basmati rice
  • Mushroom and Spinach Risotto, with white wine and garlic, finished with parmesan cheese and butter
  • Beer Battered Fish Bites, served with Chunky Chips, Minted Pea Puree and Tartare Sauce
  • Oriental Duck Stir Fry with mixed veg, bean sprouts and noodles
  • Homemade Meatball Linguine pasta in a rich tomato sauce served with parmesan cheese
  • Beef Bourguignon, chunks of beef steak, slow cooked in a rich red wine sauce with garlic, carrots and onions, accompanied by our creamy mashed potato and stem broccoli

Desserts:

  • Chocolate Brownie, served with Walling’s Vanilla Ice-cream
  • Cherry Victoria Sponge Cake, served with a cherry sauce and vanilla ice-cream

December Set Menu

Our December set menu is available from 12 noon daily Monday to Saturday from Monday 30th November upto and including Christmas Eve 24th December.

£18.00 for 1 Course (Main only), £20.00 for 2 courses, £26.00 for 3 courses

Starters:

• Homemade Soup of The Season served with croutons
• Salmon Carpaccio (cured salmon) Russian caviar, vegetable croutons
• Confit French duck liver, sliced and served with an onion marmalade, blueberry jam, fresh pear and apple slices
• Mixed root vegetable (diced heritage carrots, beetroot and celeriac) salad with roasted mixed seeds and honey flavoured butternut squash dressing, Choose either: Goats’ cheese, Marinated salmon or Fried Beef steak bites.

Main Courses:

• Roasted Vegetable Bon Bons served on a bed of polenta, with a tomato, basil and garlic sauce
• Whole Seabass (served on the bone) served with Princess potatoes (piped and roasted), seasonal vegetables with sweet green pepper and tomato, in a garlic and white wine velouté
• Stuffed Turkey (apricot, chestnut and GF pork sausage meat), served with pigs in blankets (GF pork sausage wrapped in bacon), roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and gravy
• Pork Tenderloin Medallion, served with rocket mashed potato, seasonal vegetables and a beetroot and red wine sauce
• Goosnargh Duck breast, served with a honey, sour cherry and Worcester sauce, with seasonal vegetables and potato croquettes

Desserts:

• Christmas Pudding and custard
• Chocolate Orange Cake, served with sweetened cream and an orange sauce
• Sticky toffee pudding served with vanilla ice-cream
• Crème Brulee

We are proud of our wine cellar. Carefully picked brands and vintages to suit every taste. Our whites include a Spanish and a New Zealand Sauvignon, Italian Pinot Grigio and Portino, South African Chardonnay and French Chablis.

 

For the Rosé lover an Italian Pinot Grigio Blush and and American Zinfandel. Or go red with an Spanish Tempranillo, American Merlot and Pinot Noir. A Malbec from Argentina, Australian Shiraz or South African Pinotage.

 

And of course for those that like a cheeky bubble, we have a collection of Prosecco, Sparking Rosé and Champagne.

Cocktails

Whether its a meal with friends or a girls night out, try one of our cocktails and start your evening off with a bang at the Ginger Bistro. Popular favourites such as Mimosa, Kir Royale, Bellini, Martini, Mojito and of course a Cosmo are here ready to tempt you.
And don’t forget we have 2-4-£10 cocktails!
(Available between 5pm and 7pm Monday to Saturday when 2 of the same cocktail are ordered at the same time (not mix and match)).

 

For the Gin lovers we have the standards, Bombay Sapphire and Hendricks, with some fruity favourites thrown in like Jawbox Rhubarb & Ginger, Pineapple & Ginger or Malfy Con Arancia Sicilian Blood Orange. A large collection of spirits including Greygoose Vodka, Jack Daniels, Martini and Havana Club also prop up our bar.

 

There is Cruzcampo Lager on draft with a selection of bottled beers and ciders for those who like a less multicoloured approach. And for those sensible few and designated drivers we have a collection of Mocktails, bottled soft drinks and juices.

NHS Discount

NHS 10% Discount is available for food from the full a la carte menu anytime Monday to Thursday. (Discount not available on Friday or Saturday or from our Set Menu).

1 full Meal per person will be discounted by 10% on production of 1 valid proof of NHS employment or Blue Light Card (Drinks are excluded from this offer).
