Re-Opening Guidelines for our Customers

Firstly, a warm welcome back, from all of us to all of you. Its been a long 100 plus days for all of us, I’m Sure! This said obviously, we are all now subject to the ‘new normal’ with all necessary precautions and heightened cleaning rituals in place. We at The Ginger Bistro want to make you feel as safe as is possible in these strange times and do not wish to compromise on the quality of either Service or Food on offer from us.

Our seating capacity has been greatly reduced as we have followed The Government Guidelines regards Social Distancing at 1 metre plus. Our cleaning regime, thorough as it was, has been increased


What you should now expect at The Ginger Bistro:

  1. Booking is Essential via our website: or telephone 01772 460214 ONLY. Please do not book through any social media sites as these bookings may not be registered.

Maximum Group Booking of 6 people (maximum of 2 families per group)

Table Time:
Tables of 2 people will be allocated 1 hour 30 minutes
Tables of 4 or more people will be allocated 2 hours

Please do not feel hard done by if do we need to ask you to vacate your table, this is purely to ensure that all our customers enjoy their time with us!

  1. We have shortened our Menus to ensure that our kitchen staff can meet Social Distancing Guidelines when preparing food items for you

Drinks Menu

Breakfast Menuavailable daily Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 11.30 am

We will only be open from 5pm on Mondays during July

Panini Menuavailable Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 2.30pm

A la Carte Menuincluding desserts available Monday from 5pm to 9.30pm and Tuesday to Saturday from 12 noon to 2.30pm and 5.00pm to 9.30pm

Takeaway Menu for COLLECTION ONLYavailable from 5pm to 9.30pm Monday to Saturday. Waiting times will be subject to how busy the Bistro is at any given time.


  1. What’s Changed inside The Ginger Bistro:

Please wait at the door to be seated, adhering to Social Distancing Guidelines.

Our Greeter will use an Infrared Electronic Thermometer to check each customer’s temperature on arrival. Please Note: Anyone showing a temperature of 37.2 degrees centigrade or higher will unfortunately, not be allowed to enter.

Hand Sanitiser will be available for Customer use at the both door and the toilets.

The Greeter will show you to your table. We would ask you to remain at your table, relax and we will look after you. Please do not approach the bar for drinks, this is to minimise movement around the Bistro.

Our Current Menus including drinks are all available to view on your own devices via our free Wi-Fi. We will ensure however that we have single use disposable paper menus for should you need them

Your Server will come and take your order when you are ready. We would ask that you stay at your table

Your Server will ensure that you have the necessary cutlery in advance of your Food arriving

Food will be served to you by a separate Server wearing gloves and face mask, please let us know if you feel that masks are a necessary precaution.

Used crockery, cutlery and glassware will again be cleared by your original Server wearing gloves and facemask.

We now have 2 wireless credit card terminals and will take payment wherever possible at your table.

Thank you once again for returning to us and for bearing with us in the ‘new normal’ times, we would appreciate your patience, courtesy and common sense and we will do our outmost to return the favour and look after you to the best of our ability.
